The Adventure Therapy Project is an initiative of Kathryn Walton Consulting to bring a variety of workshops to women in the Darling Downs Region. The Rewilding Project are hosting three unique workshops for The Project.
This event is supported by funding from Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN through the Australian Government’s PHN Program.
The Adventure Therapy Project will foster community, social and emotional well-being and resilience, and reduce stigma associated with mental illness and accessing mental health and suicide prevention services. The Project aims to do this by increasing women’s participation in outdoor physical recreational activities by providing free community-driven workshops to ‘have a go’ at adventure-based activities in natural environments within a supportive atmosphere. The workshops will support participants as they take practical action towards improved mental health/wellbeing without the stigma associated with many help-seeking behaviours.
